The Mangrove sits on Carnarvon Street above Roebuck Bay in Broome, and it is the rare Kimberley wedding venue that publishes a full, current price list. Tropical gardens, two pools, frangipani, and lawns running to a view that the hotel has built its whole offer around — it is also the town’s Staircase to the Moon viewing spot.
Setting & Style
Three indoor rooms and a set of outdoor options. The Durack Room has its own bar and a balcony over the bay; the Argyle Room is the smaller one, with panoramic windows and its own bar; the Bay Club Lawns take alfresco dining; the Ceremony Lawn is the wide open space above the water. There are also Sun, Ocean and Moon decks.

Couples who want a Broome wedding with the numbers on the table before they enquire — and who want their guests, and themselves, to sleep where the reception is.
The Need-to-Knows
- Venue hire is published per space: Durack $1,100, Argyle $900, Bay Club Lawn and Ceremony Lawn $1,200 each, Sun Deck $650, Ocean Deck $350. A private bar on the Sun, Ocean or Moon decks is $3,000; a cocktail bar is $300 plus $50 per hour per bartender.
- Food runs $29–$125 per head, all with a 30-guest minimum: light canapés $29, cocktail canapés $65 or $75, buffets $85, $95 and $125. Beverage packages are $69 / $79 / $89 for three, four or five hours.
- Read the other-functions clause. “The hotel reserves the right to book other functions in the same function room up to two hours before… and two hours after… Additionally the hotel reserves the right to book other functions in adjoining rooms at any time.” This is not an exclusive-use venue.
- The night ends early by wedding standards. Noise restrictions from 10:30pm, all music off at 11pm, alcohol service ends at midnight unless arranged. It is a working hotel with guests asleep upstairs.
- No BYO except the cake. Sunday and public holidays carry a 15% surcharge on the total account, and the brochure warns prices rise 5–10% a year.
- Final numbers are due 10 working days ahead and you are charged on that or the head count, whichever is greater.
- Dietary marking is thorough — GF, DF, V and V+ (vegan) run through every menu.

- Beverage packages, per person: three hours $69, four hours $79, five hours $89. The hotel offers premium wine selections including Sandalford Estate Reserve Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon and Semillon Sauvignon Blanc, plus local and international beers and soft drinks.
- Food, per person, all with a 30-guest minimum: light canapes $29.00 (four items, 'Ideal for both casual and formal parties or events'); cocktail canapes $65.00 (nine items) or $75.00 (ten items); substantial canape add-ons $7.50 each with a minimum order of 30 pieces; buffets at $85.00, $95.00 and $125.00.
- This is not an exclusive-use venue, and the brochure says so plainly: 'OTHER FUNCTIONS - The hotel reserves the right to book other functions in the same function room up to two hours before the scheduled function commencement time and two hours after the scheduled functions finishing time. Additionally the hotel reserves the right to book other functions in adjoining rooms at any time.' Worth reading before booking a room next to an unknown event.
- The night ends early because people are sleeping upstairs: 'In consideration for our house guests, we require that music is at a quieter level from 10.30pm onwards and all music will be switched off at 11.00pm.' 'FUNCTION HOURS - Music and entertainment must cease at 11pm and Noise restrictions will be in place from 10.30pm. Alcohol will cease being served at 12 midnight unless prior arrangements have been made. Fees and surcharges do apply for extended trading on liquor licensing.' DJs and bands 'must abide by the Environmental Protection (noise) Regulation of 1996' and the hotel 'reserves the right to reduce the volume'.
- No BYO except the cake: 'Due to licensing laws and health and safety, no food or beverage may be brought into or taken from the premises by any party. The only exception to this rule is that you may bring into our premises a birthday or wedding cake.'
- Surcharges and escalation are both published: 'A 15% surcharge on the total account is applicable for all events held on a Sunday or public holidays.' 'Whilst every endeavour will be made to maintain prices as printed, all prices are subject to alteration... Goods and services tax is included in our pricing. Prices are subject to a 5-10% increase per annum, excluding government or supplier introduced taxies/levies/surcharges.' The last of those is unusually candid and worth knowing when quoting a 2027 wedding off a 2025 brochure.
- Final numbers are binding: 'Final catering requirements and conference numbers are required 10 working days prior to the event. Charges will be based on these, or on final head count, whichever is greater, but not less than advised 10 days prior.'
- The menu can change: 'Mangrove Hotel reserves the right at the Chef's discretion to change or modify the menu due to availability.'
