Stories By Annie is a Blue Mountains wedding and elopement photographer whose whole pitch is that you should not have to perform. Her work opens with the line “come as you are”, and she means it as a working method rather than a slogan — she photographs full-dance-floor celebrations and quiet two-person elopements with the same attention, and calls both exactly her kind of day.
She sums her style up in two words, connection-led and relaxed, and is upfront that she does not try to fit couples into a single photographic look. Some of her couples lean documentary; others want more direction and considered portraits, and she says she genuinely loves both. She guides you when it helps and disappears into the background when it does not, keeping one thing at the centre of it: capturing how the day felt to be there.
Couples who feel awkward in front of a camera, and couples whose plans sit at either end of the scale. Elopements and intimate weddings start well under the price of a full day, so a two-person ceremony somewhere beautiful is as much her work as a hundred-guest reception. She also suits couples marrying in the mountains who want someone who already knows the quiet locations and how the weather behaves up there.
Full wedding packages start at $3,500, and elopements and intimate weddings start at $950. Enquiries begin with an online form and are followed by a call or an email exchange before anything is booked; a signed contract and a deposit secure the date. Wedding galleries are delivered within six weeks. She photographs throughout New South Wales as a matter of course and will travel further afield on request.
The next-day sneak peek. Most photographers ask for weeks before a couple sees a single frame; Annie delivers a first gallery the day after the wedding, so there is something to share while the day is still being talked about.
