Peter Izzard has photographed on the NSW South Coast for more than fifteen years, working from a studio at Kiama and ranging from Wollongong and Jervis Bay as far south as Merimbula. He is a full-time professional across weddings, families, commercial work and landscape, and he has a published coffee-table book, Home. Kiama Through Our Eyes, made with Phil Winterton. On his own account he lives on the coast with his family, indoor cats and outdoor chickens, and is rarely without a camera.

Style & Approach

He is direct about not chasing trends: fads come and go, he writes, and his way is to make unique, natural and honest images that will look as good in future years as they do the first time you see them. That shows in the published work, ceremonies in bush clearings and on rock platforms, confetti and recessionals caught as they happen, quiet portraits at the edge of the water, and the occasional wide frame that puts a couple small against a vineyard or a headland. Couples describe him as calm and easy to have around on the day.
