Sydney Sakura Studio is a documentary wedding and elopement photography practice run by Nao, a Sydney-based photographer who also works in maternity, family and engagement photography. Bilingual in Japanese and English, she works with multicultural couples and photographs small, unposed celebrations rather than large, heavily directed weddings.
The approach is documentary and candid: quiet observation with light, unobtrusive direction only at key moments such as arrivals, family portraits and timeline prompts. Every gallery is hand-edited, and the finish can be tailored to a film-inspired, bright-and-clean or moody look depending on what a couple prefers.
Couples planning an intimate wedding or elopement under fifty guests, registry ceremonies, backyard celebrations and last-minute or small-scale bookings. The studio is LGBTQI-friendly and regularly photographs same-sex and rainbow-family weddings, and its bilingual service suits Japanese-speaking and multicultural families.
Coverage runs from a three-hour Simple Elopement package up to a six-hour Half Day and ten-hour Full Day or Premium package, with an additional hour available on any package. Payment plans are offered, with a deposit to secure the date and the remaining balance split into two or three instalments due in full at least one month before the wedding.
Nao is also a practising solicitor, and brings that background into how sessions are planned and run: organised, punctual and clear about logistics, with a calm approach when a wedding-day timeline runs under pressure.
