Destiny Chic is a dress boutique on Ipswich Road at Annerley, a few minutes south of the Brisbane CBD. It does three things most bridal shops do not do together: it sells gowns, it hires them, and it makes them to order. The room is bright and simple — white brick, a marble floor, rails of gowns and a floral archway to photograph the moment in.
Every gown is the boutique’s own label. The bridal range runs to 164 designs corset and lace-up backs, Chantilly and floral lace, structured ballgowns, A-lines, mermaids, basque and dropped waists, long trains, detachable sleeves, two-piece and 2-in-1 gowns, and short styles for a registry or a reception change.
A bride who wants a big gown without buying one — wedding dresses can be hired, which almost no Brisbane boutique offers. Also for a bride who cannot find her size on a rack: gowns come in to 26, and custom-made runs are cut to spans such as 14–18 or 20–26.
Buying a wedding gown, with most. Hiring one. Consultations at the shop are free call or text 0425 408 093, email, or use the form, and they answer within a day. Custom-made gowns cannot be refunded and the returns window is 10 days, with sale items exchangeable for store credit, so take the free fitting before you commit.
You can hire the dress. The same rail that sells a gown outright will rent it for a fraction of the price — the boutique’s own argument is that it is cheaper and less wasteful.
