After Five Bridal + Formal
After Five has been part of Queensland’s bridal story for over four decades. It once ran three shops; today it is deliberately one, a single boutique on Kingston…
Bridal Dress Stores · Brisbane, Queensland
Sentani Boutique is a large occasion-wear shop on Milton Road, directly across from Milton Train Station, and it is as much an online business as a showroom - orders are hand-packed and shipped worldwide. Ten years in, its pitch is breadth rather than exclusivity: bridal, bridesmaid, formal and debutante on one floor, with over two thousand products published online and a permanent sample-sale rail running through every category. If you want a curated boutique with six gowns and a glass of champagne, this is not it. If you want to see a lot of dresses in one afternoon, it is.
The house label sits alongside Australian and international designers. Tania Olsen Designs dominates the catalogue, with Maya Bella, Poseur, Cinderella Divine, Christian Koehlert and Windsor jewellery alongside; the boutique also names Ashley Lauren and Primavera among its labels, and stocks its own Sentani Boutique line. Bridal is filterable by silhouette - A-line, fitted, mermaid, princess, strapless, basque waist, drop waist - and by fabric: satin, lace, Mikado, tulle, crepe, beaded and organza.
Two brides especially. The one who needs a size outside the usual bridal run: Sentani publishes AU 2 to 40, the widest range of any store in this database. And the one dressing a whole party on a budget - bridesmaids, mother of the bride, the debutante and the formal guest all come from the same floor, with a sale catalogue starting around $99. It also suits anyone shopping from outside Brisbane, since most of the range is genuinely buyable online.
Appointments are preferred and default to 30 minutes, run back to back - arrive on time rather than early. Weekends need booking; midweek walk-ins are sometimes possible outside school holidays, but ring first on (07) 3171 2455. Guest numbers may be limited. Not every online style is on the shop floor, and stock can sell off the rack, so call ahead if you want a specific size or colour. No hire. In-store lay-buy is available with a deposit, paid in full on collection; online orders take Afterpay. In-stock dresses dispatch within two business days. Note the boutique is closed Tuesdays.
AU 2 to 40, ready-to-wear and made-to-order. Most bridal shops stop at 20 and order up; Sentani publishes the whole run as normal stock, which is why it turns up in plus-size searches that boutiques twice its price do not serve at all.
