Lovelenscapes is Tina’s studio at Paddington in Brisbane, founded in 2011. She came to it by an unusual road — born in Berlin, a doctorate and a postdoc in language neuroscience, a decade in medical research and a spell lecturing at Harvard — and she has been based in Brisbane since 2008. She and her team photograph weddings and elopements across Australia, Europe and further afield.
They describe what they make as modern romantic photography meeting old world craftsmanship, and they call themselves visual poets: every image meant to stand as its own small piece of art. They are drawn to moody skies, mountain sunsets, the woods and the sea, and they take on a deliberately limited number of weddings each year so each couple gets their full attention — from planning the timeline through to designing the album at the end.
Couples who want their photographs printed and bound rather than left on a hard drive, and who like a photographer who will travel. Their published weddings run from Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast to Melbourne, Byron Bay, New Zealand and Spain, and they cover intimate elopements through to multi-day celebrations.
The albums. They spent years ordering from reputable album makers around the world, testing cover materials and papers, then visiting the finalists to meet the makers before settling on a workshop near Venice. The albums are sold to anyone, not only to their own couples — all they need is a gallery of high-resolution photographs to work from.
