Flames of the Forest
About
Overview & Vibe
Flames of the Forest is set in a secluded valley of ancient Wet Tropics rainforest in the Mowbray Valley, ten minutes from Port Douglas — Australia's only rainforest dining venue, and the largest permanent off-site event space in Tropical North Queensland.
Setting & Style
A permanent marquee structure protects the space from the weather while leaving it entirely open to the forest: an elegant black silk-lined marquee, hundreds of flames on ornate candelabras, thousands of tiny lights sparkling in the canopy, and the sound of cicadas and a rolling mountain creek underneath everything. Receptions run as stand-up cocktail gatherings, lavish banquets or a tropical-inspired three-course menu, and the venue can arrange special effects — blazing trails of fire, fireworks and other pyrotechnics. There are no noise restrictions and no curfew, no phone signal to distract anyone, and no other bookings taken alongside yours; the rainforest is yours for the evening. Transfers, menus, entertainment, AV and styling are coordinated through a network of local vendors.
