The White Aisle is a small Burleigh Heads studio in a boutique industrial complex, open by appointment, and it hands the entire space to one bride at a time. Five labels, prices published for all of them, and an unusually straight FAQ that tells you what the samples will and will not do for you before you arrive.

Ideal For

The bride who wants a designer gown and a private room, and who values being told the truth about fit. The FAQ says plainly that samples run –12 with a very limited range +, that A-line gowns can be pulled in or let out to approximate her size but fitted silhouettes cannot, and that she will need ‘a level of imagination’. That is more useful than a boutique that lets her find out in the change room.

The Need-to-Knows

Initial appointments carry a fee and run 60 minutes with exclusive use of the studio; 24 hours’ notice is required to change or cancel or the fee is non-refundable. Up to four guests. Same-day bookings can sometimes be accommodated by phone. All gowns are made to order and generally need 6–8 months from yes to collection, so the studio suggests starting 9–12 months out; some designers can go faster for a fee. Open Monday to Friday 10am–4pm and Saturday 9am–4pm, by appointment.

Standout Feature

It tells you where to park. The studio is in a boutique industrial complex with entry via the driveway at the end of Bee Court — to the left after you pass Hornet Place — and it warns that on-street parking can be limited on weekdays and to allow extra time. Very few stores publish a genuinely useful arrival note.

Appointment Policy

The studio is open by appointment only, to provide an intimate one-on-one experience.
24 hours' notice is required to change or cancel; with less notice the appointment fee is non-refundable.
Standard appointments run 60 minutes, with private and exclusive use of the whole studio.
Brides wanting additional time are advised to request a weekday appointment.
Same-day bookings can sometimes be accommodated by phoning 0406 187 722.
Up to four guests can be comfortably accommodated.
Gowns are made to order and generally require 6-8 months from order to collection; the studio suggests starting the search 9-12 months before the wedding.
Some designers can accommodate a shorter timeframe, but this may incur an additional fee charged by the designer.
