Bridal Dress Stores · Adelaide, South Australia · Visit in person
Adelaide Bridal Emporium trades from a historic old red brick building on Payneham Road in Evandale that was formerly a church — which is a fair description of the shop too: large, traditional and built for volume. It has dressed brides not just from Adelaide but from Broken Hill, Alice Springs and Darwin, which tells you what it is for. This is the full-service bridal store rather than the curated boutique.
164 gowns published, 148 of them wedding dresses, concentrated in the Allure family — Allure Bridals (36), Allure Romance (29), Allure Couture and Allure Women — alongside Madison James (29), Abella (23), Wilderly Bridal (18), Tina Holly (8), Tania Olsen (4) and Eddy K. You can browse by silhouette: A-line (43), sheath (40), ball gown (37), fit and flare (12) and princess line (4), or by mood — the store’s own filters are Bohemian Beauty, Classic Elegance, Modern Bride and Vintage Inspired.
The bride who wants a big room and a lot of gowns to work through, and — distinctively — anyone needing a debutante gown. The store runs a proper deb range (Allure Debutante, Lulu & Lace) alongside bridal, bridesmaid and formal, which very few bridal shops still do.
Appointments are essential and are requested through a form, but submitting the form is not a confirmation — a consultant calls back within two business days to confirm, and the store asks brides to check their junk folder. Appointments are not taken later than one hour before closing. Urgent bookings should go through by phone. The store is closed Monday and Sunday; Tuesday to Friday 10am–5pm and Saturday 9am–4pm.
The building. A red brick former church, kept as the shopfront — it appears behind a good number of the store’s own wedding photographs, because couples pose against it.
