Wedding Photographers · Adelaide, South Australia
Laurence Gibbs photographs weddings from Adelaide and travels for them, and his portfolio shows it: a villa in Milan, a boat on open water, a castle, a Dior storefront, alongside Adelaide Hills estates and McLaren Vale. Every wedding is shot across both digital and analogue film, and he hand-prints in his own darkroom. He does not cap how much he shoots.
Candid documentary with an editorial edge, in his own description, blending modern romance with old-world artistry. He shoots 35mm, medium format and large format film alongside digital, which is unusual enough to be the point rather than a flourish, and he describes his job as documenting the day as it unfolds while gently guiding when needed.
Couples who want film in the mix and an editorial look, and couples marrying somewhere far away — travel is included in most cases, whether that is Melbourne, Queenstown or Italy. Elopements and micro weddings get their own bespoke pricing.
Three wedding collections are published: $3,995 for eight hours, $4,995 for twelve, and $7,995 for twelve with a second photographer and an album. All include unlimited guidance, pre-wedding consults, a venue walkthrough with timeline planning, and an online gallery for twelve months. Elopement pricing is sent on enquiry.
The darkroom. Black-and-white prints are made by hand on fibre-based paper in his own darkroom, from $475 for an unframed 8 by 10 inch, with larger sizes and framing on request.
