Vintage Bloom Company is Kasey Lynch’s barn shop on Main Road in McLaren Vale, working from a family-run boutique flower farm at Willunga. Most of what goes into an arrangement is grown by her, harvested by hand, and what she cannot grow she buys from other small farms across the Fleurieu. Farm to vase, in the literal sense.
Naturally beautiful and seasonal rather than styled to a trend - what is in the field is what goes in the bucket. The range runs from natives and proteas through cottage dahlias and cosmos to market bunches, and the shop publishes retail prices so a couple can see the level before enquiring.
Couples marrying around McLaren Vale, Willunga and the Fleurieu who want flowers grown a few kilometres from the venue. Kasey also runs flower crown and bouquet-making workshops that she pitches directly at brides-to-be, which makes the barn a hens’ or bridal-party option as well as a florist.
Wedding and event work runs through a consultation - an enquiry form brings a call back. The barn is open Tuesday to Friday 9am to 4pm and Saturday mornings, with Sundays kept for event bookings. A second published schedule lists Monday to Friday, so it is worth confirming when calling.
The growing is the differentiator and the sustainability practice is specific rather than decorative: blooms grown chemical-free by natural methods, all green waste composted, water reused to nourish the plants, biodegradable packaging, deliveries in timber crates instead of plastic, and aprons made from recycled plastic fibres.
