The Wild Flower Company is an Adelaide wedding florist that has taken an unusual turn; it has moved its studio out to its own flower farm at Delamere on the Fleurieu, while still working right across the metro area and out to country South Australian venues a couple of hours from the city. Its own words for the look are sophisticated, romantic, wildly natural, and its working principle is “less, but better” fewer pieces, placed where they will actually be seen.
Wild, romantic and textural, and led by the season rather than by a set list. The studio commits to what is good that week instead of naming favourites, and is straight about what that means: peonies come for only a few weeks in mid-spring, usually November, and the window moves with the winter. Foliage and Australian natives for a rustic feel, wax flower or baby’s breath for a single-bloom crown, rose petals down the aisle, and dried arrangements when a couple wants something that lasts.
Couples who would rather be guided than handed a menu. There are no packages here at all, which suits a wedding with an unusual shape (a forest elopement, a long picnic table, a stone barn) better than a fixed tier would. Interstate and overseas couples are handled entirely by email or video, and there is a micro-wedding route for a small ceremony.
No set packages: every wedding is quoted from a custom brief. Book six to twelve months out if you can, weekends go quickly, though shorter runs are workable, and nothing is fixed until about a month before the day. Final details are settled six to eight weeks out. Consultations happen at the Delamere farm, over Zoom or phone, or somewhere local. Flowers are delivered personally and set up on the day. Hire pieces, furniture through to candlesticks, and glass sleeves for venues that ban open flame, come through the studio’s sister styling business.
It answers the budget question twice. Ten of the total wedding budget is the usual guide, but if you want flowers to be a significant part of how the day feels, it says plainly that the honest figure is closer to twenty-five. Almost no florist will name the second number.
Thanks. Replies come to the email address you gave.
