Saffire Freycinet
About
Overview & Vibe
Saffire Freycinet is a twenty-suite luxury lodge on Coles Bay, looking across Great Oyster Bay to the pink granite peaks of the Hazards. It is an all-inclusive property rather than a function venue — meals, beverages and signature experiences come with the stay — and weddings here are small, private and built around the setting.
Setting & Style
Ceremonies take place on a nearby beach, on a remote island, or inside the lodge itself with the Hazards filling the windows. Receptions are held at Palate, the lodge restaurant, which seats up to 40 with the choice of à la carte or a tailored dégustation built around Tasmanian produce — oysters and seafood from Great Oyster Bay, cool-climate wines from nearby vineyards. With only twenty suites, the whole lodge can be taken exclusively, which is how most weddings here work.
Ideal For
Couples planning a small, high-end wedding where the guest list stays under forty and everyone stays on site for the weekend — and who want the Freycinet Peninsula itself to be the event.
The Need-to-Knows
- Forty guests is the ceiling. Palate seats up to 40; the boardroom takes 24 for a meeting. There is no larger function space.
- There is no wedding package or per-head price. Saffire publishes no wedding pricing at all — the only figure on the site is a nightly rate band of AUD $2,500–$4,000+ per night, all-inclusive, in its own structured data.
- Rates include breakfast, lunch and dinner, a selection of beverages including Tasmanian wines, evening canapés or afternoon tea, a daily-replenished mini bar, and the Signature Experiences.
- Exclusive use of the lodge is offered for weddings, small conferences and incentive programs.
- Twenty suites in four types, all designed for two guests. Families and groups need a conversation with reservations.
- From late 2026 the Saffire Jewel, a three-bedroom private villa with an 18-metre infinity pool, adds group accommodation on site.
- Vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free menus are available; dietary needs are taken at booking.
Standout Feature
Exclusive use of a twenty-suite lodge above Great Oyster Bay, with the Hazards as the backdrop and a beach or a remote island for the ceremony.

From late 2026 the Jewel opens as a three-bedroom villa with an 18-metre infinity pool, jacuzzi, private guide and concierge team and an elevated wine cellar, with full access to the lodge's amenities and experiences. The suites are designed for two guests; families or groups are asked to contact reservations.
Price Notes
- NOTE: Saffire Freycinet publishes no wedding pricing - no per-head rate, no package, no venue hire fee and no minimum spend appear anywhere on the site, and there is no wedding brochure or PDF. Weddings are arranged directly with the lodge.
- The only rate published anywhere on the site is in its own structured data, which gives a priceRange of 'AUD 2500-4000+ per night'. That is a nightly accommodation band for the lodge, not a wedding price, and it is recorded here and in json_ld_pricing on that basis.
- Saffire is all-inclusive, which shapes what a wedding costs. Stated inclusions in the nightly rate: 'A seasonal taste of land and sea, woven through breakfast, lunch and dinner; A selection of beverages to enjoy at your leisure, including Tasmanian wines, with evening canapes or afternoon tea in the lounge; A complimentary in-suite mini bar, replenished daily; Signature Experiences, offering a deeper connection to the landscape.'
- Exclusive use is offered - 'Saffire Freycinet offers exclusive-use experiences, thoughtfully shaped for special occasions, small conferences, incentive programs and other small-scale Tasmanian events' - but no exclusive-use rate is published. With 20 suites and a 40-seat restaurant, an exclusive-use wedding is bounded by those two numbers.
- From late 2026 the Saffire Jewel Private Villa is due to open, described as adding 'an additional layer of seclusion and space for groups, with expansive living areas designed to welcome and host fellow guests staying on site'. Anything quoted for it should be confirmed, as it was not yet open when this listing was compiled in July 2026.
