A single architectural house on the water at Swansea, on Tasmania’s east coast looking across Great Oyster Bay to the Freycinet coast — and a dedicated elopement venue rather than a wedding venue in the usual sense. Sea Stone hosts parties of two to ten, and nothing larger.

Setting & Style

Dark stone and vertical timber outside, warm and spare inside: Egyptian cotton, a deep bathtub, a green-tiled bathroom, a living room glazed to the bay. The beach is at the back doorstep. The venue’s own photographs show a single long table dressed in white linen and wildflowers set on the deck with the water behind it — which is what an elopement here looks like.

You cannot book a wedding directly. “All elopements at Sea Stone must be booked through one of our exclusive planners” — Freyr Studio x Murphy Bloom, Wilderness Weddings, Dear Leone, or Artaud & Co. Each has its own packages, and no pricing appears on Sea Stone’s own site.

Overnight capacity is six, and the overflow plan is published: the Hotel Piermont Retreat is nearby, so guests can book a room there and walk back after the celebration.
It describes itself as an airbnb. From the amenities page: 'Our meticulously designed Airbnb offers a range of amenities to ensure your stay is nothing short of extraordinary.'
