Wedding Photographers · Launceston / Tamar Valley, Tasmania
Jeremy Plaisance is a documentary wedding photographer and filmmaker in Launceston, where he lives with his wife and small daughter. He came to weddings by way of street photography in Sydney, editorial work and brand shoots, and he has taken at least one photograph every day for years. He photographs weddings, films them, or does both with a two-person team.
Documentary, with a photojournalistic approach and an editorial eye. He works quietly and unobtrusively, collecting the small things that are easy to miss and impossible to recreate: a glance across the room, the exhale before the aisle, the moment a speech tips someone over the edge. Where guidance helps he gives it, but the aim is to keep the day relaxed, natural and connected rather than posed.
Couples anywhere in Tasmania who want the day documented rather than directed, and who may want a film as well as photographs without hiring two suppliers. The hourly option suits a short registry ceremony, the full day suits a wedding that runs from getting ready to the dance floor, and there is a fixed elopement package that includes a celebrant.
Photography is $4,200 for a full day of up to ten hours and $2,400 for a half day, with hourly coverage from $750. Film is $4,900 and $2,800 on the same basis, and both together with a two-person team is $8,500. A ten per cent deposit locks the date and fixes the price. All prices include GST and travel is included for most Tasmanian locations.
Every image is edited by Jeremy personally, with no AI editing and no outsourcing, and a full day delivers a minimum of five hundred finished photographs. There is also an unusual add-on: a second videographer spends two hours at the reception asking guests how they met and fell in love, producing a short film about the people in the room rather than the wedding itself.
