SIGHTSCENE is Haydn Robertson, a Launceston photographer who has been working in media since 2009 and shoots weddings alongside teaching. Film photography is what drew him to weddings, and he still thinks in film terms, naming the stocks he is chasing when he describes a day. He photographs other things too, but weddings and elopements are the only work he sells packages for.

Style & Approach

Intimate, authentic and timeless, in his own three words. He works toward a look rather than a checklist, drawing on Kodak Portra for muted greens on an overcast day and Kodak Gold for warm tones against grey city stone. He is candid about not enjoying being photographed himself, and uses that plus a fairly sarcastic sense of humour to get couples past the awkward stage.
