Tamara Langmaid photographs weddings across Tasmania from her studio at Forth on the north-west coast, where she and her family also run a 400-acre farm. She has been behind a camera since she was ten and working professionally since 2009, and the work leans into the state’s big landscapes — Cradle Mountain, Dove Lake, lavender rows and the coast.
Relaxed and unfussy. She is open about wanting the day to feel fun and real rather than staged, and she is happy to say she is not the quiet type — couples who want a photographer who talks, laughs and puts people at ease will recognise her quickly.
Couples marrying anywhere in Tasmania who want dramatic landscape portraits as part of the day, and elopers in particular — the two-hour elopement collection is built for a ceremony and portraits at a chosen Tasmanian location with no more than ten guests.
Three wedding collections, all inclusive of GST: elopement at $1,700 for two hours, half-day at $3,600 for four hours, and full-day at $4,900. Each includes a private online gallery and edited photographs on USB — 100+, 400+ and 700+ respectively — with the full-day collection also including a hardbound 8x8 inch linen-covered 40-page album. Extra coverage is $275 an hour. A travel fee may apply to some locations, and 15% of the collection price is required to secure the date.
The full-day collection arrives with the album already included rather than sold afterwards, so the finished, printed record of the day is part of the booking instead of a decision to make later.
