Clasch Design is a made-to-measure design and dressmaking house in Ballarat, run by Clare, who has been making gowns here since 2006. Nothing is bought in: every garment is hand-crafted, cut to your shape, with the fabric sourced for you. Her own promise is the appeal — “an individual look that is made to fit and a style that no one else will have”.
Dress Styles & Designers
One designer, her own label. Clare makes wedding gowns, debutante dresses and special-occasion wear, in beautiful laces and the finest silks and satins sourced to the design. Her own portfolio runs from full-lace long-sleeve gowns and structured satin to two-piece bridal separates, coloured deb gowns and mothers’ outfits.

Thirty years of industry behind a one-woman studio. Clare trained at the Melbourne College of Textiles, worked in bridal in Melbourne through the 1990s, then as a fashion designer in Sydney, with work projects in Paris, London and Los Angeles, before coming home to Ballarat. She was named Bridal Gown Designer of the Year for the Ballarat/Bendigo region at the 2021 Brides Choice Awards, won a 2024 Federation Business Excellence Award, and is a member of the Ballarat Wedding Collective.
