Overview & Vibe
Allurah is a homestead estate on five acres in the green belt between Ballarat and Buninyong, eight minutes from town. It was converted to a function property and opened in late 2016, and it works on exclusive use — one wedding at a time, the whole place yours, run by chef-owner Leon Lavery.
Setting & Style
Sweeping verandas, a floodlit courtyard, gum trees and open paddocks, with the reception rooms done in a classic function-centre style — ceiling drapery, chair covers and sashes, skirted bridal table, wine barrels for the cake. Several ceremony locations sit around the property, indoor and outdoor, each with its own permanently installed arbour and power on site. A private bridal suite and newly renovated ceremony areas were added recently.

Couples who want the whole property to themselves near Ballarat, with the food handled by the owner rather than a contract caterer — and who value a fully itemised price list over a quote-on-enquiry conversation.
The Need-to-Knows
- Every price is published and all of them exclude GST. Gold menu $84.50 per person, Silver $74.50, Cocktail $74.50; beverage packages $50 standard or $57.50 premium for five hours. Add GST to each. Prices are valid until 31 December 2026.
- Venue hire doubles next year. $1,000 + GST for weddings held in 2026, $2,000 + GST from 1 January 2027 — published in the venue's own terms.
- Minimum spend $5,000 on the reception, and a non-refundable $1,500 deposit due within seven days of a tentative booking.
- Ceremonies are $500 and include 30 white chairs, six bench seats and a simple signing table and chairs. Every ceremony site has a custom-installed arbour and power.
- Receptions run five hours, starting between 5:30pm and 6:30pm in the evening. Extra time is $5 per guest per half hour, arranged in advance. Beverage packages extend on the same $5 basis.
- No BYO. All buildings and lawns are strictly non-smoking, and no confetti, rice or glitter is permitted anywhere on the property.
- Final numbers lock 14 days out and become the minimum charged regardless of who turns up.
- No guest capacity is published anywhere on the site or in the pack — ask on the complimentary tour.

Price Notes
- SOURCE AND DATING: the 'Weddings' pack (file weddingsapril26-1.pdf) linked from the venue's Wedding Packages page behind a Download button. WordPress published it 13 April 2026 and the server's Last-Modified header agrees - about three months old at the time of listing. Every price page states 'Prices valid until 31st December 2026', so the figures are current and their expiry is known.
- ALL PRICES EXCLUDE GST. Stated on every price page and again in the terms: 'All pricing excludes GST. GST will be added to the final invoice.' Add roughly 10% to every figure below.
- MENUS, PER PERSON: Gold $84.50, Silver $74.50, Cocktail $74.50 - Gold and Silver both include canapes on arrival. BEVERAGES, PER PERSON, five hours: Standard $50, Premium $57.50; additional time $5.00 per person per half hour arranged in advance.
- VENUE HIRE RISES ON 1 JANUARY 2027. The terms state: 'A venue hire fee of $1000.00 +GST is applicable to all weddings held in 2026. Weddings held from 1st of January, 2027 there venue hire will be $2000 +GST.' A couple booking a 2027 date pays double the 2026 hire fee.
- CEREMONY: $500 excluding GST, including 30 white chairs, six bench seats and a simple signing table and chairs. Each ceremony location has a custom installed arbour and power available.
- MINIMUM SPEND AND DEPOSIT: 'Total wedding reception expenditures must equate to a minimum of $5000.00.' A non-refundable $1,500 deposit with a signed booking form is due within seven days of a tentative booking, or Allurah reserves the right to release the date. Food and beverage payments finalise 14 days before the event and credit card details are held on file for final settlement.
- CANCELLATION: more than 120 days before the reception, loss of deposit; 14 to 120 days, 50% of event cost; within 14 days, 100% of reception cost. Notice must be in writing.
- DURATION: 'Wedding reception packages are for a duration of five hours and commence between 5.30-6.30pm for evening receptions. Additional time can be arranged and will be charged at a rate of $5.00 per guest for every additional thirty minutes.'
- STYLING EXTRAS, all excluding GST: ceiling drapery with twinkle lights $350, $550 or $1,100 depending on coverage; light-up LOVE letters $250; rustic LOVE $150; champagne wall $100; personalised welcome sign $100; 1940s vintage wrought iron signing table and chairs $50; red carpet $100; lawn games $200.
- HOUSE RULES: 'BYO is not permitted. All buildings & lawns are strictly non-smoking' with a designated area near the carpark. 'Due to environmental factors, no confetti, rice or glitter is permitted on the premises.' Decorations fixed to the building need prior approval. Final guest numbers confirm 14 days out and become the minimum charged regardless of attendance; numbers may be increased up to three business days before.
