Wedding Venues · Ballarat, Victoria · Visit in person
A 20-acre hobby farm on the outskirts of Ballarat at Millbrook, and a wedding venue that took “almost five years in the making” to get through planning. The draw is The Barn — a 352 m² all-black timber-clad American barn, which the owners describe without much modesty as “modern, moody… equal parts relaxed and ridiculously good-looking”. There is a herd of poll Highland cattle and hand-raised poddy calves in the paddocks, and they are part of the offer.
Beyond the barn there is a dam with a timber jetty out over the water, an old corrugated-iron shed, post-and-rail fencing and open paddock — all of which turn up in the photographs. Ceremonies and cocktail hour go outdoors in “beautifully designed outdoor spaces”; the barn takes the reception and runs on fairy lights after dark.
Couples who want to build the whole day themselves — their own caterer, their own food trucks, their own styling — in a brand-new barn twenty minutes from Ballarat.
