Miranda Stokkel is a Melbourne wedding photographer who has been shooting weddings full time for more than eight years. Her own summary of the work is blunt and cheerful - so in love with weddings - and the galleries bear it out: ceremonies, confetti exits, long reception tables and late dance floors, shot warm and close rather than staged.
She describes her way of working as natural and candid, capturing people as they really are rather than posing them. She shoots digital, and offers 35mm film as an add-on delivered as professional-resolution scans, so a couple can have a roll of real film alongside the digital coverage.
Couples who want a full, unhurried record of the day and are comfortable with a photographer who works by watching rather than directing. The three collections span a three-hour elopement to a twelve-hour-adjacent full day, so the range suits a small registry ceremony as readily as a large reception. She also photographs family sessions.
Wedding collections are published in full and inclusive of GST: an elopement of up to three hours at $3,500, a six-hour collection at $4,900 and a full day of up to eight hours at $5,900. Additional hours are $500 each. Every collection delivers high and low resolution edited digital images through an online gallery ready for direct download - roughly 200, 400 and 600 or more images respectively.
The 35mm film add-on at $200 per roll. It is priced separately and clearly, which is unusual - most studios either shoot film as their whole identity or not at all, and here it is offered as a deliberate extra alongside a full digital record.
