About

Overview & Vibe

Miss Pickle Photography is a one-woman studio on the Mornington Peninsula, and the voice on the site is unmistakably hers: warm, funny and entirely unpretentious. She finished her photography training in two thousand and seven, worked for wedding studios in Sydney and Melbourne, and has photographed hundreds of weddings since. She names the Peninsula as the reason she loves the job — endless places to explore and to take photographs in.

Style & Approach

She describes her own work as classic, natural and timeless, and she is specific about how she gets there: ambient and natural light wherever possible, flash only once the sun has gone, and no filters or presets after the fact because she thinks those date badly. She does not force poses. During the ceremony, in her words, you will not know she is there; at the reception she photographs everyone candidly and will occasionally gather guests for something posed.

Ideal For

Couples on the Peninsula who want one photographer who blends in rather than a team who direct, and who like the idea of meeting for a coffee before booking. Her published work runs from vineyard and estate weddings through to seaside and paddock celebrations, and she photographs Melbourne weddings regularly as well. She has photographed same-sex weddings and says so plainly. Couples marrying midweek or in winter get her lowest published price.

The Need-to-Knows

Packages start at two thousand dollars for midweek and winter weddings, covering a pre-wedding consultation, an engagement shoot at the final catch up, six hours of coverage from preparations onward, and up to one thousand images in a shareable online gallery with a separate black and white folder. A sneak peek arrives within a week and the full gallery in four to six weeks. A ten hour day yields up to twelve hundred images. A second photographer can be added, and albums are designed by her and made in Melbourne.

Standout Feature

She offers the engagement shoot to every couple who books a minimum six-hour package, and schedules it for the final catch up before the wedding — her reasoning being that a warm-up makes couples calmer on the day. It is a small piece of scheduling sense that most studios sell separately.
