Shannon and Christine have run Sorrento Wedding Photography and Films from the Mornington Peninsula for a decade, and have photographed over four hundred weddings in that time. Shannon grew up around Blairgowrie and Sorrento and named the business for the stretch of coast he knows best; the pair came to weddings from advertising and commercial work, and kept the polish while losing the formality.
They name their style plainly: editorial, shot on high-end medium format cameras, and leaning natural and candid rather than posed. Their own promise is that they never over-correct or use heavy filters in editing, so the look of the day survives into the pictures. The aim they state is timeless rather than fashionable, and the portfolio bears it out across chapel, vineyard, clifftop and bathing-box settings.
Couples marrying anywhere along the Mornington Peninsula who want photography and film from one team, and who would rather meet the people shooting their day than be assigned them. They also work regularly in Melbourne and the Yarra Valley, run engagement sessions, and have a distinct elopement and micro-wedding offering for smaller mid-week celebrations. They note that they have photographed civil, religious and same-sex ceremonies alike.
Coverage runs from a five-hour package up to a full day, and extra hours can be added to any package. A deposit of four hundred dollars secures each service, photography and videography counting separately. Every package includes high-resolution images and films through a private password-protected gallery and on a USB delivered to the door, with fine art albums, prints and frames available. Expect a sneak peek soon after the day, a video link inside about two weeks, and the full delivery in around four to six weeks. Full package details come by enquiry.
Two places to meet them: an office on the Peninsula and a studio in Melbourne, both by appointment, with a video call offered if neither suits. For a business named after one seaside town, that is a practical answer to the distance most Peninsula couples are actually travelling.
