About
Overview & Vibe
Inspired Design is a long-established Melbourne invitation studio in Campbellfield, in the city’s north, working by appointment from a showroom rather than as a walk-in shop. It grew out of a corporate graphic design and printing business about twenty years ago, took on wedding work for friends and associates, and opened a retail store in 2000. The range is the defining thing: more than twelve hundred paper and card varieties, local and imported, and a catalogue that runs from letterpress and foil through to acrylic, wooden and laser-cut invitations. It is a breadth-and-budget studio rather than a single-aesthetic atelier.
Style & Printing
Seven print processes are offered: offset, digital, photographic, thermographic, embossing, foiling and letterpress, the last of which the studio added more recently. Embossing can be combined with ink or foil for a raised effect, and foil stamping can be layered over embossing. Designs span classic and lace through vintage, rustic, couture and ultra-modern, and every piece is customisable to a colour theme. The studio also runs a genuine do-it-yourself side — papers, cards, envelopes, ribbons, lace trims, buckles, brooches and embellishments sold loose for couples assembling their own invitations, with a free lesson from one of the designers if you buy your papers there.
Ideal For
Couples who want to see and feel a lot of options before committing, and who would rather be guided through them in person than choose from a short online collection. It suits a budget-conscious bride particularly well, because the same studio will print a finished suite, print artwork you already have, or simply sell you the paper and guillotine it to your own design. Also a sensible choice if you need the whole table to match — menus, place cards, table numbers, seating charts, welcome boards and signage all come from the same place.
The Need-to-Knows
- The showroom is open by appointment only, Monday to Friday, and closed at weekends. Email first and a staff member arranges a time.
- Invitation designs are quoted individually rather than listed at a set price, so expect to ask rather than to shop from a price list.
- Proofs cost nothing and you get a colour-printed sample plus a physical mock-up before anything is printed. Three rounds of amendments are free; after that it is $10.00 a set.
- Allow two to three weeks from approving your proof, and longer for foil, raised print, letterpress or embossing. The studio’s own terms quote a shorter one-to-two weeks for the print run itself.
- Add two to five working days for interstate delivery, or seven to fourteen for international — the studio ships worldwide.
- Printing has no minimum or maximum quantity, which is unusual and useful if you need a small run or a handful of extras.
- Once you sign off the proof, errors in the wording become yours — check names, dates and numbers carefully before approving.
Standout Feature
The finishing room. Beyond design and print the studio sells the fiddly assembly work separately and openly — trimming, scoring, folding, binding, laminating, die cutting, collating and gluing, priced by the sheet, the booklet or the hour. Very few wedding stationers publish that at all, and it means you can take the job as far as you want yourself and hand over the part you do not want to do at eleven at night.
Appointment Policy
- By appointment only. The showroom is available Monday to Friday by appointment and closed on Saturday and Sunday, although staff work normal business hours.
- Email the studio to request an appointment and a staff member will make contact to arrange a suitable time.
Areas Serviced
- Worldwide - the studio states that you do not have to live in Australia to use it, as it delivers anywhere in the world, and publishes separate interstate and international delivery timeframes.
Booking & Deposit
- A deposit is payable to start the job. Paying it, together with approving your artwork, is treated as acceptance of the studio's terms.
Delivery & Setup
- Delivered worldwide. Allow an extra two to five working days for interstate delivery, or seven to fourteen days internationally, on top of the production time.
- If an item is misprinted against the proof you approved, the studio reprints it and sends it by express delivery at no additional cost.
- Orders can also be collected from the studio, which asks you to check your stock before leaving.
Minimum Order
- No minimum or maximum quantity on printing, so a small run or a handful of extra invitations can be ordered.
Nearby Landmarks
- Sydney Road – the long retail strip running north out of the city through Brunswick and Coburg.
- Melbourne Airport – about fifteen minutes west, which matters if guests are flying in.
- Broadmeadows Central – the nearest large shopping centre.
- Coburg Lake Reserve – parkland a few suburbs south, popular for wedding photographs.
- Merri Creek Trail – a green corridor following the creek down towards the city.
Price Notes
- ⚠ The rates below are for the studio's printing and finishing SERVICES. They are not the price of a finished wedding invitation, which is quoted individually.
- Printing artwork you supply: an A4 sheet is $1.50 single-sided or $2.50 double-sided for one to a hundred, and $1.10 or $2.10 above a hundred, charged per artwork file.
- There is no minimum or maximum quantity on printing.
- Artwork needs 3-5mm bleed and crop marks. The studio's designers can add these for an extra charge if you cannot.
- Assembly work is charged at $75 per hour.
- Machine finishing: booklet making $0.50 per booklet, stapling $0.03 per staple, folding $2.00 per 100 sheets, hole punching $1.00 per hole per 100 sheets.
- Hand finishing: folding $0.02 per sheet, stapling $0.10 per sheet, collating $0.15 per sheet, binder insertion $0.50 per booklet, scoring $0.20 per score.
- Further proof rounds beyond the three free ones are $10.00 per set.
- All prices include 10% GST and are in Australian dollars, and the studio notes they can change without notice.
- Visa, Mastercard, American Express and EFTPOS are accepted, and direct debit by prior arrangement.
- Colour can vary slightly between the proof and the finished print because of paper moisture, humidity and ink batches.

Proofs & Revisions
- Proofs cost nothing: the studio sends a complete copy of your wording in your chosen lettering, laid out as it will be printed, and an actual invitation printed in colour.
- Once the emailed proof is approved a physical mock-up is made before any printing starts, and printing does not begin until a signed approval has been received.
- Three rounds of amendment proofs are free. Any further rounds are $10.00 per set.
- Allow two to five business days for proofs on interstate orders, or seven to fourteen business days internationally.
- Once you approve the proof, any error in the wording, spelling, layout or guest details becomes the customer's responsibility and a reprint is charged in full.

Turnaround Time
- Allow two to three weeks after you sign off the completed proof.
- Orders needing foiling, raised print, letterpress or embossing take longer, as do jobs with complex assembly.
- The studio advises posting invitations six to eight weeks before the wedding, and notes that couples commonly order four to six, or even twelve, months ahead.
