Lilykiss is a Melbourne wedding stationery studio that works online — you browse the range, order through the shop, and everything after that happens by email or over the phone. It describes itself as a studio for design savvy couples, and the range is led by its materials: as well as printed card, it makes invitations on wood, on acrylic and on transparent vellum. The range is built for weddings, and the studio says it will adapt a design’s wording and layout for an engagement party, a baby shower or a birthday if you ask.
The designs run classic and romantic through to modern and minimal, with a vintage and a whimsical group, watercolour florals and greenery, monograms and arch shapes. Printing is digital, with metallic foiling, white ink on kraft and on coloured stock, laser cutting with an insert, and wax seals. Colour is the thing they are most flexible about: any design can be colour-matched to your palette at no extra cost.
Couples who would rather choose from a finished range than commission from scratch, and who want to know the price before they enquire — every invitation design shows a full quantity ladder, so you can see what 30, 50 or 100 will cost before you contact anyone. It suits couples anywhere: shipping is a flat rate Australia-wide however remote, and it ships overseas too. A $5 sample with generic wording lets you handle the card first.
The minimum order is 30 invitations, though smaller runs can sometimes be arranged by email depending on the technique — and for timber or foil a short run can cost the same as 30 anyway. Your layout comes back by email to approve; two to three rounds of changes are included, and further rounds are $20 each. After you sign off and pay, allow about nine to seventeen working days, and around three weeks for acrylic, envelope liners or place cards. Cancelling before you approve the proof costs $150, and once the proof is approved there are no cancellations or refunds, because the order is already at print.
Pricing here is unusually open for the trade: instead of a single starting figure, every invitation design lists what each quantity costs, step by step from 30 upwards, so you can see the whole curve before you commit. It is worth reading the steps rather than just the first one, because the rate per card falls steeply with volume. The studio also recommends ordering at least five spare blanks, since reprinting a handful later is disproportionately expensive.
