Petite Paper Co is a boutique Melbourne studio, working since 2016, whose wedding range runs from named semi-custom suites to fully bespoke invitations. The look is minimal and modern rather than ornate, and the studio works by appointment seven days a week, in person or by video call.

Style & Printing

Suites come as named collections, several of them designed as trilogies that share a family resemblance, and the text, font, paper colour and paper size can all be changed to suit you, though the layout itself stays as designed. Printing is digital, white ink, foil press in up to two colours, letterpress in up to two colours, or embossing, and there is a wide range of coloured stock to choose between.

Ideal For

Couples who want a designer suite without commissioning from scratch, and who are happy to pick a collection and make it theirs. There is a fully custom path as well, which starts with a consultation and a mood board. The studio also makes menus, signage and seating pieces, so one supplier can cover the invitation and the day itself.

The Need-to-Knows

For 50 to 100 invitations as a three card package, the studio suggests allowing $300 to $600 for a full colour digital suite, excluding envelopes, $1,500 to $2,000 if the whole suite is letterpressed or foiled, and around $1,800 to $2,000 or more for both together. The minimum is 20 invitations for digital printing and 50 for letterpress or foil. A 50 per cent deposit is due once the quote is approved, three rounds of changes are included, and turnaround is one to four weeks depending on the finish. Allow one to two months for the whole process.

Price Notes

The published guide prices a three card package for 50 to 100 invitations and notes that prices change with the paper stock chosen. A 50 per cent deposit falls due when the quote is approved and the balance before printing. Three rounds of changes are included; beyond that the rate is $70 an hour, and a change affecting more than half the original design may be treated as a new job. Proofs & Revisions

A mood board comes first, then three to five concepts based on it. Three rounds of changes are included in the quote; further changes are charged at $70 an hour. For standard printing you can have a physical print proof to check colour, plus a digital proof to check spelling. No proof is possible for foil or letterpress.

Turnaround Time

Once artwork is approved, printing takes one to four weeks depending on the finish. Allow one to two months for the whole design and printing process, and the studio suggests sending invitations six to twelve months before the day.
