ra&co.design is a wedding and event stationery studio working from Smith St Studios in Collingwood, inner Melbourne. Its own line for the work is that modern meets fun, and it sets out to make stationery that is more than ordinary. There are seven semi-custom collections to choose from, each one built around a destination, and a fully bespoke service if you would rather start from a blank page.

Style & Printing

The collections range from timeless and traditional to coastal, playful and openly luxurious. Everything in a collection is printed digitally as standard, often with white ink, and embossing, letterpress and foil can be added for an extra print fee. Die-cut shapes are part of the house style: square, heart, decorative frame and curved frame are standard, and the studio will quote on a shape of your own.

Ideal For

Couples who want a complete, coordinated suite rather than invitations alone, and who like the idea of choosing a ready-made look and then recolouring and reshaping it. Every collection runs from the save the date right through to table numbers, matchboxes and a linen welcome sign, so the whole day can be designed as one piece.

The Need-to-Knows

Nothing is sold at a set price and no prices are published anywhere. Every order is quoted individually, so send your item list and quantities and ask for a written quote before you commit.
Allow at least four weeks for a digitally printed order, and six to eight weeks if you want embossing, letterpress or foil. Linen signage needs about six weeks.
For custom work the studio prepares two concepts and includes two rounds of feedback. If you are ordering from a collection, confirm what is included when you ask for your quote.
Embossing, letterpress and foil carry an extra print fee, and some premium paper stocks cost more.
Stand hire for the linen welcome sign and seating chart is only available in Melbourne, Victoria.

Standout Feature

Each of the seven collections is named for a place and designed around it, from the lakeside romance of Bellagio to the palaces of Jaipur and the white sand of Whitehaven Beach. Each one covers around eighteen matching pieces, so a single choice carries the whole day.

Appointment Policy

To price a collection, send an enquiry from the collection you like with your items, quantities and any changes you want. The studio replies within 48 hours with a few final questions, then sends a written quote.
For a design made from scratch, send an enquiry with your vision and requirements and the studio will come back to finalise what you are after before quoting.
The studio keeps business hours of 8.30am to 5.30pm, Monday to Friday.

The studio works from Collingwood in inner Melbourne and posts finished stationery out, with delivery quoted as part of every order.
Hire of the white stand for the linen welcome sign and the linen seating chart is only available in Melbourne, Victoria.

Delivery & Setup

Your finished stationery is posted to you, and design, printing and delivery are quoted together as one lead time.
Once an order is dispatched it travels with a postal or courier service, and the studio asks you to check your delivery details carefully. Shipping charges are not refundable.
Orders that are not collected or sent within sixty days of being finished may be disposed of unless something else has been agreed in writing.

Price Notes

Every order is quoted individually rather than sold at a set price, and no prices are published anywhere. Send your item list and quantities and ask for a written quote before you commit.
Embossing, letterpress and foil carry an additional print fee on top of the standard digital printing, so say which you want when you enquire.
Designs are printed on premium stocks, and the collections are paired with more affordable stock options. Certain premium stocks cost extra.
Unless something else is agreed in writing, full payment is required before design work or printing starts.
If you cancel before any design work has begun there is an administration fee of $200.00 plus GST and the rest is refunded.
If design work has started but nothing has been printed, the studio keeps either half the invoice or a design and concept fee of $500.00 plus GST, whichever is greater, and refunds the rest.
Once anything has been printed it is not refundable.
Extra revision rounds beyond the two included are charged at the studio's hourly design rate, which is not published.

Proofs & Revisions

For a custom project the studio prepares two design concepts that take different creative directions, and you choose one.
Two rounds of feedback are included on the concept you choose, and further rounds can be quoted. This is the process the studio sets out for custom work, so confirm what applies if you are ordering from one of the collections.
Approving the final artwork confirms the spelling, names, dates, quantities, layout and colours, so anything changed after that is treated as a new order and charged again.

Bellagio - an Italian-inspired collection drawn from the lakeside views of Bellagio, in the studio's words a blend of Italian stationery and timeless style.
Versailles - a traditional, elegant collection inspired by the gardens and detail of Versailles, designed to feel luxurious and regal.
Mallorca - a Mediterranean collection with minimalist, striking lettering, taking its cue from the beaches and rustic elegance of the island.
Positano - a coastal collection with organic, handwritten lettering, drawn from the cliffs and waters of the Amalfi Coast.
Whitehaven - a tropical collection combining minimalist and calligraphy lettering, inspired by the white sand and clear water of Whitehaven Beach.
Jaipur - an opulent collection with playful, whimsical lettering, taking its patterns and colour from the palaces of Jaipur.
Morocco – one of the seven collections, offered with the same range of around eighteen pieces as the others.

Turnaround Time

Allow four to six weeks for a custom stationery project: one to two weeks for concepts, about a week for revisions and approvals, and one to two weeks for production and delivery.
Collection orders printed digitally need at least four weeks for design, printing and delivery.
Embossing, letterpress and foil take longer - allow six to eight weeks for design, printing and delivery.
Linen signage needs at least six weeks.
Many couples order six to twelve months ahead, and every project is given its own timeline with milestone and feedback dates.
