Hayden is a Mornington Peninsula wedding photographer who came to weddings from surf photography, and it shows in how he works: fast, unobtrusive, and comfortable in bad light and salt air. He moved into weddings in 2017 after years shooting surfing full-time, and the portfolio runs from clifftop portraits in a gale to a long candlelit table at the end of the night.
He calls the work candid and editorial, and describes his own composition as dramatic, raw and always authentic. In practice that means very little direction on the day — he describes a non-invasive approach and capturing the wedding exactly as it happens — paired with a handful of deliberately composed frames. A lot of the work is black and white, and some of it is shot on film.
Couples on the Peninsula or around Victoria who want the day observed rather than staged, and who like a photographer who will chase weather and coastline rather than avoid them. He travels for weddings wherever they are, and spends part of 2027 based in Europe, so a wedding abroad is a genuine option rather than a courtesy line.
He publishes no pricing, packages, coverage hours or inclusions anywhere — the site is deliberately a portfolio and a contact form. Everything is quoted on enquiry, and he undertakes to reply within one day. The surf background. Years of shooting moving water in flat coastal light produces a very particular instinct for timing and for weather, and it carries into the wedding work — hair across a face on a headland, confetti caught mid-air, a veil going sideways on a beach. These are frames that reward a photographer who is already looking when the moment starts.
