Ten acres of former farmland at Elleker, west of Albany, turned into professionally designed gardens around a purpose-built reception building. The venue calls itself “Albany’s only fully dedicated wedding venue” — and everything on the property, from the ceremony gardens to the bridal suite, exists for that.

Setting & Style

Potters Well is the reception building: polished concrete, natural timber, tall cathedral ceilings and a lot of glass, on the edge of ornamental lakes with a perennial garden around it, and a courtyard and decks besides. Ceremonies happen in The Sunken Garden or elsewhere in the grounds; there are hedged walks, lawns and lakeside spots, and hundreds of acres of farmland beyond the boundary.

Ideal For

Couples who want the whole day in one place at almost any size — from a twelve-guest elopement to a hundred and sixty standing — and who want to control the drinks budget.

The Need-to-Knows

Five packages, each with its own guest ceiling: Elopement up to 12 (2½ hours), Intimate up to 50, Deluxe sit-down up to 130, Ceremony & Cocktail up to 160, and a Ceremony-and-Post-Ceremony-Only package up to 150 (3½ hours).
Self-catered beverages with no corkage. In the venue’s own words: “We allow for self-catering beverages with no corkage to allow you to allocate your budget to the special items.” That is unusual and it is real money.
Everything is quoted on request.
A night’s accommodation and breakfast for the couple is in four of the five packages, in a luxury bridal suite on site.
Potters Well has a full kitchen for your chosen caterer, and the venue provides the bar, furniture, linen, crockery, cutlery, sound system and dance floor.
Wet weather is designed for, not improvised. “There is no need to agonise over an indoor / outdoor decision as we have all contingencies covered.”
Reception capacity is given twice and the numbers differ — roughly 150 in Potters Well “more if the courtyard and decks are utilised”, against a cocktail package of 160. Worth confirming.
