A private mansion on 650 acres of its own headland east of Albany, above the Southern Ocean, with two private beaches, a helipad and its own airstrip. Maitraya hires as a whole and calls itself “one of Australia’s most prestigious luxury retreats”. The homestead runs to 8 bedrooms, 11 bathrooms and 6,000 m².

Setting & Style

Ceremonies go on the clifftop lawn with the ocean and the Porongurups behind, on the private beach, or under the glass-domed, sky-lit atrium — an indoor garden with a koi pond that seats 45. Receptions run in a marquee on the manicured grounds, and the venue’s own photographs show one dressed with hanging greenery, wine barrels and lounge settings looking straight out to sea.

Ideal For

Couples who want the whole property and everyone in it — a small wedding party staying three nights in the house, or a large marquee reception on a headland nobody else can reach.

The Need-to-Knows

Six wedding packages are published with prices, from $3,000 for grounds-only ceremony hire to $16,500 for exclusive use plus three nights for sixteen. That is unusually complete.
Accommodation and event capacity are very different numbers. The homestead sleeps 16; the whole estate sleeps 30; the atrium seats 45; and a marquee on the grounds takes up to 700.
It is self-catering by default, with a gourmet kitchen for your caterers — “Whether self-catering or sampling the fare prepared by one of our experienced chefs”. Full catering and marquee packages are available on enquiry.
Getting there is part of it. An hour’s flight from Perth or 4.5 hours’ drive; 20 minutes from Albany airport; private aircraft can land on the estate’s own airstrip and there is a helipad.
The homestead has a two-night minimum at $5,000 per night if booked as accommodation rather than through a wedding package.

Transfers can be arranged from Albany airport if required, your guests will revel in the privacy and seclusion of the natural setting.'
