Mrs Fray is Canberra's bridal concept store, open since 2018 and run by Amy and her team from a gallery-style space at Campbell, a few minutes from the city. It describes its mission as breaking bridal norms and giving brides a relaxed, supportive and pressure-free experience, and the room is built for it — a multi-sensory gallery rather than a wall of white. The Need-to-Knows

Appointments are essential and the first one costs $30, non-refundable inside 48 hours, with follow-ups free. They run a generous 90 minutes, with seating for the bride and up to three guests and a firm request not to bring more. Open Wednesday to Sunday. Gowns are made to order, not made to measure, and the boutique is explicit that it does not offer custom gowns and does not do alterations — budget $500–$1,000 separately for those. Standout Feature

Merci — a pre-loved and ex-sample collection run as a proper resale channel, and one with an unusual rule: Mrs Fray only accepts a gown on consignment if it was originally bought there. Appointment Policy

Appointments are essential; a $30 appointment fee secures the first fitting and follow-up appointments are complimentary.
The appointment fee is non-refundable if cancelled within 48 hours, but the booking may be rescheduled at no cost up to 24 hours beforehand.
Personalised fitting appointments run for a generous 90 minutes, one-on-one.
Seating is provided for the bride and up to three guests, and the boutique asks that no additional guests attend; more can be included at a follow-up appointment.
The store is open Wednesday to Sunday, 10am to 5pm.
Walk-ins are welcome to browse and to use a fitting room if one is available, though appointments are advisable and essential at weekends.
Sample gowns held in store to try on range from AU size 8 to 16.

Brides are asked to bring preferred undergarments, ideally nude coloured; preparation tips are emailed a few days before the fitting.

A 50% deposit of the gown total plus shipping secures an order, with the balance due once the gown is ready and before it is shipped.
