Sheri McMahon is a fine art film wedding photographer based between Newcastle and Sydney, working across New South Wales and travelling for destination celebrations. Her published work runs from the Hunter Valley and the Southern Highlands to Italy, Thailand, New Zealand and France, and the look is consistently light, warm and unhurried.
She shoots film alongside digital, and is candid about why: a roll carries sixteen frames, so each one has to be made with intention, and the slower pace keeps both photographer and couple present. She describes the results as timeless, elegant and editorial, with a European-inspired sensibility, and she leans on travel and cultural experience as the thing that shapes how she sees a day.
Couples planning a refined or destination celebration who want an heirloom set rather than a large gallery, and who are comfortable with a considered, film-led approach. She also runs workshops and one-to-one mentoring for other photographers, so the studio is as much a teaching practice as a shooting one.
Nothing is priced publicly. Every couple is quoted individually: a twenty to thirty minute call comes first, and a proposal tailored to that conversation follows within a day. Enquiries are answered within twenty-four hours. No package hours, delivery times or album products are published, so those are worth asking about directly.
The film commitment is the differentiator and it is unusually well-argued rather than decorative, she frames the medium’s limits as the point, and plans to arrive up to two days before a wedding to scout light and recover from travel.
