About

Overview & Vibe

Chris Dixon spent years touring the world as a singer — from the UK to the Caribbean, and he still hops on stage as a guest entertainer — before finding a second kind of storytelling behind a camera. He now lives in Port Macquarie with his wife and a golden retriever called Ralphy, and shoots weddings across the Mid North Coast. Couples describe him the way you would describe a good performer: infectious energy, easy to be around, and very good at making people who dislike being photographed forget the camera is there.

Style & Approach

Natural and unposed, with what he calls cinematic tones and a documentary feel. Rain under a shared umbrella, confetti on a lawn, a bride reflected in wet sand at low tide, groomsmen collapsing with laughter on a couch — the frames run to real weather and real behaviour rather than arranged tableaux. His own line for it is a quiet lens on your loudest moments.

Ideal For

Couples marrying anywhere between the Camden Haven and the Hastings who want the coast in the pictures. Town Beach, the breakwall, Tacking Point and the rainforest all appear in his wedding work, as do the Sydney Harbour foreshore and an English village, so he is equally at home on a headland at sunset and inside a reception room after dark. Especially good if one of you is camera-shy.

The Need-to-Knows

He publishes no wedding prices, packages or coverage hours anywhere on the site — the enquiry route asks for your budget instead, offering under $1,500, $1,500 to $3,000, or budget is not a factor. Everything else runs through that form or the phone. He also sells art prints of the region on metallic paper, in three sizes, priced openly.

Standout Feature

Six separate lines of work sit behind one lens — weddings, portraits, families, events, pets, and the landscape and aerial work he calls Land, Air, Life. For a couple that means the person photographing the wedding is the same one who will photograph the family a few years later, and the same one whose coastal prints you can buy for the wall.
