Wedding Stationers · Sydney, New South Wales · By appointment
BW Reporter is a small Sydney studio that has been making wedding invitations since 2003, working from a showroom in Sydney by appointment. It describes itself simply as “wedding and general invitations and stationery”, and the range runs beyond weddings to engagements, communions and birthdays. This is a one-studio operation rather than a large house, and the website is a gallery and a phone number rather than a shop, so the first step is an email or a call about a design you like.
The gallery is organised as twenty named designs rather than a price list, among them Boho Spring, Embossed Garden, Serenity, Timeless, Too Chic, Eucalyptus, Golden Autumn and Venetian. Pick the one closest to what you want and the studio quotes from there.
The gallery is organised as named designs, each one a starting point you can adapt. Those names give a fair picture of the range: Boho Spring and Boho Winter, Embossed Garden, Peonies, Roses in Blue, Eucalyptus, Amber Floral and Magnolia in Spring on the botanical side, and Timeless, Serenity, Venetian, Marble Engagement and Black Gold at the more formal end. The studio makes a point of its materials, describing high quality recycled papers and cardstock in 300gsm and 750gsm weights, and a 1.4mm board printed on both sides.
Couples who would rather start from a design they can see than from a blank page. The studio invites you to look through the gallery, pick the design closest to what you want and email about it, with modifications made to suit. Matching pieces are available across the whole day: save the dates, place cards, menus, gift tags, seating and welcome signs, thank you cards and ceremony booklets all follow your chosen design. It also suits couples outside Sydney, since the studio works nationally and internationally.
Nothing is priced on the website, and there is no published lead time, proofing process or postage information, so you will need to ask. The studio says plainly that an enquiry puts you under no obligation. The showroom is Sydney, by appointment only, so it is not a walk-in shop. Enquiries go by email or phone, and the studio asks you to name the gallery design you are interested in when you get in touch, which makes the first exchange quicker.
Longevity, and a very direct way of working. Twenty-plus years of invitations means the gallery is broad rather than fashionable, and the process is refreshingly short: find a design, send an email, talk it through. There is no form to fill in and no package to choose between. For couples who find bigger studios’ tiered collections hard work, that simplicity is the appeal.
