About

Overview & Vibe

Pure Invites is a Sydney studio that designs wedding invitations and stationery from scratch rather than selling a fixed range. Every suite is drawn up to the couple’s brief, and the studio says it has created more than 800 designs and produced over 100,000 invitations. Enquiries and orders run by email, and finished stationery is posted out.

Style & Printing

Printing runs from flat digital, the most economical choice, through screen printing to foil, embossing and letterpress. Card is 250 to 300 gsm in matt linen textures and metallics, and ribbons, patterned papers, lace, pearls and diamantes can be added. Wax seals and embossing stamps are there for a classic finish, and ready-made laser-cut sleeves are stocked.

Ideal For

Couples who want a design made for them rather than chosen from a catalogue, and who are content to work it through by email. It also suits anyone who would rather assemble the pieces themselves: the studio will design and print, and leave the ribbon-tying and layering to you. Small runs are welcome, with as few as five invitations possible on most designs.

The Need-to-Knows

A custom wedding order carries a minimum of $180, whatever the quantity, so a very small run still costs that. Above it, most invitations work out between $7 and $18 each on runs of sixty or more, covering design, set-up, printing, card and a plain premium envelope; inserts such as reply cards, maps, menus and place cards are charged separately. Allow three to five weeks for production, or about two weeks for a simple digitally printed design when the stock is in and the wording is ready. Printing guests’ names onto invitations is offered for an extra fee.

Standout Feature

The studio keeps a deep bench of blank materials - speckled and recycled stocks, coloured envelopes, deckled-edge cards and a wide wax seal range - so a suite can be built around a particular paper or colour rather than around a template.

Appointment Policy

  • Enquiries and orders are handled online and by email, and the studio answers emailed questions directly. There is no walk-in service and stationery is posted rather than collected; the wishing well and easel hire is the one exception, collected and returned by appointment.

Areas Serviced

  • Printed stationery is posted out rather than collected.
  • The wishing well and easel hire is a Sydney service, collected and returned by appointment, with the studio naming suburbs across the lower north shore, the north-west and the Northern Beaches.

Delivery & Setup

  • All orders are dispatched by post; collection in person is no longer offered.

Minimum Order

  • Most designs carry no minimum quantity and an order can be as small as five invitations.

Nearby Landmarks

  • Sydney Opera House - the harbour's most photographed building, minutes from Circular Quay.
  • Sydney Harbour Bridge - the arch that frames almost every harbourside ceremony photograph.
  • The Royal Botanic Garden - thirty hectares of harbourside lawn and fig avenue beside the Opera House.
  • Bondi Beach - the best known of the eastern beaches, with a clifftop walk south to Coogee.
  • The Rocks - sandstone laneways and colonial pubs on the harbour's western shore.

Per-Piece Pricing

  • $7 to $18 per invitation on orders of sixty or more
  • Pocket invitations from $12 per invite
  • Hardcover invitations with a soft cover envelope box from $15 per invite

Price Notes

  • A custom wedding order carries a minimum of $180, and other occasions a minimum of $150. The minimum applies however few pieces are ordered, so a run of five invitations is still charged at $180 rather than at the per-invitation rate.
  • Quoted invitation prices cover design, set-up, printing, card and a plain premium envelope. Inserts such as reply cards, wishing well cards, maps, information cards, place cards, order of service booklets, menus and favour tags are charged separately.
  • The price per invitation falls as the quantity rises.
  • Printing guests' names onto invitations carries an extra fee, as does printing addresses onto labels.
  • Custom printed place cards carry their own minimum order of $65.
