Pioneer Country is a fifth-generation cattle property at Tweed Heads South, owned by the Sullivan family since 1892 and ten minutes from Gold Coast Airport. It is one of the very few venues in this database that publishes every price, three years ahead venue hire, four menu tiers, minimum bar spend and extension rates, for 2026, 2027 and 2028.

Setting & Style

Ceremonies happen “beneath the fig tree or inside the chapel” a plantation-style chapel with antique pews, a pitched roof and lattice side walls that open so up to 300 can watch. The reception is a purpose-built barn-style restaurant seating 220, with recycled hundred-year-old beams, fairy lights, punkah fans and three wood-burning fireplaces.

The Need-to-Knows

Venue hire is separate from catering and both are per-head-independent. The Ceremony & Reception package is a 48-hour exclusive hire midweek or weekend in 2026, rising each year — plus a menu, plus a minimum bar spend. BYO is not available and the licence runs to midnight, with extensions an hour.

Standout Feature

The dietary policy, stated as a number rather than a promise: “Special dietary meals are available at no extra charge if less than of the total guest numbers are special dietary requests.” Children 5–13 are half price, infants free, and crew meals for photographers and musicians are available. That is a venue that has thought about the invoice as well as the day.
