Wattleseed Collective is a wedding photography and film team based on the Tweed Coast, made up of Kevin behind the camera and a dedicated videographer. Kevin grew up in Tweed Heads, spent years working and travelling overseas, and came to weddings sideways after friends started asking him for family photographs. The team has more than ten years of weddings behind it and has photographed hundreds of celebrations between Byron Bay and Brisbane, from beachfront venues to hinterland farms.

Style & Approach

The work combines classic portraiture with candid, documentary coverage and a relaxed feel, finished in true-to-life colour rather than a heavy filter. Kevin describes moving between observing quietly and stepping in to give gentle guidance, so couples are neither directed all day nor left adrift. Finished galleries run roughly colour black and white, and land at about seventy-five edited photographs for every hour of coverage.

Couples who want to enjoy their day rather than perform for a camera, and who would rather one team handled both stills and film than juggle two. It suits anyone marrying between Ballina and Brisbane, where no travel cost applies, and it works for a partner who dislikes being photographed; an engagement session is built into the longest photography package to take the edge off.

The Need-to-Knows

Photography for three hours, with six hours and eight hours; an extra hour on the day. Booking photography and film together as the eight-hour combined package and saves against booking them separately. A non-refundable booking fee secures the date when the contract is signed, and the balance falls due one month before the wedding. A sneak peek usually arrives the next day and the full gallery in two to four weeks. Dates are taken up to two years ahead, and spring and autumn fill early.

The guest chat film. The team hands the microphone to the master of ceremonies and gathers messages from guests through the night, building a spoken guest book that sits alongside the speeches and ceremony films. Before the day the team also walks the venue with the couple to see where the light will fall, so the running order is settled in advance.
