About

Overview & Vibe

The Art of Bridal has been on Kedron Brook Road at Wilston since 2019, and it sits at the designer end of the Brisbane market without being a couture house of its own. Appointments are one bride at a time in a private suite, described by the boutique as a calm, considered space surrounded by its gowns. What sets it apart operationally is that the alterations atelier is the same team - so the people who sell you the gown are the people who fit it, and they take in gowns bought anywhere else too.

Dress Styles & Designers

Nine labels, weighted to Australia and New Zealand: Alena Leena - for which the boutique is the exclusive Queensland stockist, and which has been there since it opened - plus Anna Campbell, Elysian Bridal, Esty Style, House of St. Patrick, Romanova Atelier, Trish Peng, Vagabond Bridal and Van Arkel Atelier. Anna Campbell brings Melbourne-made, heirloom-quality hand beading; the collection landed in October 2025.

Ideal For

The bride who wants a specific designer and would otherwise be flying to Melbourne or Auckland to try it on - particularly anyone hunting Alena Leena, which is not stocked anywhere else in Queensland. It also suits brides who want the option to customise: Alena Leena gowns are made to order and can be altered in design or built fully bespoke. And it is a sensible choice if you dislike the idea of handing your gown to a stranger for alterations, because the fitting happens with the same team in the same building.

The Need-to-Knows

Gowns run $3,500 to $8,000, with Anna Campbell and Alena Leena both sitting at $4,000-$6,000 and Alena Leena bespoke commissions starting from $5,000 depending on complexity. Alterations are in-house but are not included in the gown price. The private suite comfortably takes up to four guests. Wear nude underwear. Alterations fittings run Wednesday to Friday, and the boutique recommends booking your first fitting about eight weeks before the wedding or your departure date - ideally at the same time as your collection appointment.

Standout Feature

Exclusive Queensland stockist of Alena Leena. For a botanical-romantic gown that is genuinely hard to see in person north of Sydney, this is the only room in the state where you can put one on.

Appointment Policy

  • Appointments are private, one bride at a time, in a dedicated bridal suite.
  • The suite comfortably accommodates up to four guests.
  • Your stylist begins by understanding your vision, preferences and any hesitations; bringing inspiration images is encouraged.
  • Wear nude underwear.
  • Return appointments are offered for brides refining a choice or still exploring.
  • Alterations fittings run primarily Wednesday to Friday and are booked separately.
  • No appointment fee is published.

Dress Experience

  • The Art of Bridal runs the appointment as a private session in its own bridal suite - the boutique's words are 'a calm, considered space surrounded by our haven of gowns'. Your stylist starts by understanding not just what you like but what you are hesitant about, and asks you to bring inspiration if you have it. Four guests fit comfortably; wear nude underwear. A return appointment is treated as its own stage - the boutique describes it as the shift from exploring to 'stepping closer to the one' - and is offered whether you are confirming a favourite or still looking. The part that distinguishes it comes after the sale: alterations are done by the same team in the same building, in an in-house atelier that works exclusively on wedding gowns. At the first fitting you try the gown with the shoes and undergarments you will actually wear, and the team pins and sculpts from there, with a second appointment to fine-tune. They ask you to book that first fitting about eight weeks out, ideally when you book your collection - and if the gown needs nothing, you take it home that day.
