Two Hearts is a small, appointment-only studio on Harcourt Street in New Farm, a few minutes from the Brisbane CBD. It is a one-bride-at-a-time room with a stated purpose: quality gowns at prices that do not require a second mortgage. The founder grew up beside her seamstress mother’s sewing machine and brings thirty-plus years in fashion and customer service, and the studio’s own photography is shot around Brisbane - the Story Bridge, riverside parks, brick warehouses - rather than borrowed from a designer’s lookbook.
The studio sells its own named gowns and publishes a price for each: Molly $2,200, Ella $2,400, Poppy $2,800, Lolita $2,950, Reigan $3,150, Coco $3,300 and Lina $4,600. Styles run modern and diverse - fitted crepe columns, full-skirted satin, off-shoulder and long-sleeve, mermaid - alongside veils, capes and detachable pieces including the Cara veil at $265 and a detachable tulle skirt and wings. Bridesmaids are Tania Olsen.
Brides who want a real gown under $3,000 without shopping a clearance rack, and who like knowing the price before they walk in - which is rarer in bridal than it should be. It also suits anyone on a short timeline: there is a dedicated, free, midweek off-the-rack appointment where you buy a sample gown and take it home the same day. The studio is small and personal by design, so it is a poor fit if you want a large party or an enormous range to work through.
By appointment only, Monday to Saturday. A first wedding-dress fitting is one hour and costs $25; a bridesmaid fitting is also $25 and takes up to five people. Second fittings and gown collection are 30 minutes. The studio holds sample gowns - each listing states the sample size available, published in US sizing from US12 to US16 with one US16/US22W - and your own gown is ordered in a custom size after your fitting. A beverage is provided on arrival. 48 hours’ notice is required to reschedule; a no-show forfeits the appointment payment. Off-the-rack sample sale purchases are non-refundable.
The free midweek off-the-rack appointment. Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays only, 9am-5pm, thirty minutes, no fee - you browse the sample sale rail, and if you say yes you walk out with the gown. Almost nothing else in this database lets a bride do that for nothing.
