Glen Ewin Estate is South Australia’s heritage wedding icon — an 1850s jam-factory estate at Lower Hermitage, thirty minutes from the city, where lakes, orchards and native woodland ring two of the Hills’ most famous rooms.
The Pulpshed — a timeworn timber barn from the 1850s draped in fairy lights and chandeliers — anchors the big celebrations, its lawns sweeping down to the lake for golden-hour ceremonies. The Gatehouse counters with contemporary glass: floor-to-ceiling doors opening to a deck over the pond. The Grounds thread lawns, gardens, scenic lakes, orchards and woodland between them, while in-house floral design (Mary Wauchope), event lighting/AV and boutique catering partners keep the whole production on the estate.
Couples wanting heritage drama — a genuine 1850s barn and a glass pavilion in one storied property.
The Pulpshed — 170 years of timber overhead and lawns running to the lake below.
