Cape Jaffa Wines
About
Overview & Vibe
Cape Jaffa Wines is a family winery at Mount Benson, twenty minutes north of Robe on the Limestone Coast. It is a small, unpolished, genuinely coastal venue — pet-friendly, family-friendly, with a craft brewery in the same yard — and the wedding offer is built around one very good room: a limestone-lined barrel hall underneath the cellar door.
Setting & Style
The venue states the sequence plainly: “Hold your ceremony on the Cellar Door lawn, & overlook the Block 15 vines. Then wander downstairs to our elegant, limestone-lined barrel room & dance the night away.” Three spaces are named — The Barrel Hall, The Cellar Door and The Olive Grove — with the courtyard and deck offered as a fourth. Its own photography shows guests seated on lawn with vines behind, and a festoon-lit crowd among stacked barrels.
Ideal For
Couples marrying near Robe who want vineyard and ocean views without a formal estate. The cottage sleeps four and is pet-friendly, the cellar door is dog- and child-friendly, and the on-site Loophole Brewing Co. taproom means guests who do not drink wine are catered for.
The Need-to-Knows
Nothing is priced and no capacity is published. The venue says only “get in touch to receive our Wedding Package info”, so both the per-head cost and the ceiling for each space are first-conversation questions. Two practical points: the cellar door trades seven days, noon to 4pm, so an event shares the site unless arranged otherwise; and on-site accommodation is one cottage sleeping four — everyone else stays in Robe or Kingston, twenty minutes away.
Standout Feature
The Barrel Hall. Limestone-lined, underground, and in the venue’s own photographs filled with guests dancing under paper lanterns between stacked barrels — a working cellar rather than a room dressed to look like one. Very few venues on this coast can offer anything like it.
