Mountain Path Meadows sits on twelve acres of volcanic soil at the foot of Mount Schank / Parreen, a dormant volcano crater fifteen minutes south of Mount Gambier and the same again from the beach at Port MacDonnell. It is an off-grid property inside the Mount Schank State Heritage Area, and it specialises in elopements and micro-weddings rather than large receptions — and it publishes every price.

Setting & Style

Ceremonies happen on the grounds among the gum trees, under a timber arbour or a draped one, with the crater rising behind and photo locations at the base of the heritage-listed mountain. Seating is built in for up to eighty. The property is home to kangaroos, wallabies and a lot of birdlife, and there is an original basalt stone cottage from about 1866 on site, currently mid-restoration. Two off-grid geodesic timber glamping domes — the state’s only ones — sit on the meadow and light up at night.

Yes - two off-grid geodesic timber glamping domes, which the venue describes as the state's only timber glamping domes, each sleeping up to four guests. Special accommodation rates are offered to couples travelling from out of town for a wedding. An original basalt stone cottage estimated to have been built in 1866 also stands on the property; it is mid-restoration and not yet offered to guests, with the owners intending to open it for short-term stays in future.
