Frahn Bridal is a Hobart atelier, not a shop. Every gown is made by hand in the studio by designer Nicole, who trained at Perth's leading fashion design institution, graduated with design and construction awards, won awards for contemporary evening wear, and spent several years in Sydney learning from Australian bridal designers before moving to Tasmania. The label's own words for what it makes are “poetic bridal wear”, and it says it stays “slow” on purpose.

Dress Styles & Designers

Two made-to-order collections of its own. First Story is the nine-piece debut — textured hems, edgy lines, embellished pearl tulle and shell-like sequins, drawn from vintage photographs. Poetic Dream is the ten-piece follow-up, softer and more romantic, in opulent jacquards and mikado, with a 1950s French Vogue reference. Silhouettes run from a full-skirted Regency A-line to a sculptured mini, a midi and several fitted crepe and satin gowns. Veils are made in house too.

Ideal For

A bride who wants a gown that does not exist yet. Alongside the two collections there is a full custom service: a 60-minute one-on-one with Nicole where you bring the vision and design the piece together. Also for the bride who wants something short, sculptural or fashion-forward — several pieces here are minis, and one is a two-piece.

The Need-to-Knows

By appointment only, Monday to Friday 10am–2pm. A $55 appointment fee secures your first consultation; it is redeemable against your gown but non-refundable if you cancel. For a custom gown the studio asks for at least ten months before the wedding — get in touch anyway if you have less, as it may still be possible. Bookings and enquiries go through hello@frahnbridal.com.au; the studio publishes no phone number and no street address.

Standout Feature

It is made where you are fitted. Nothing is ordered in from overseas and nothing waits four months on a boat — the gown is cut and sewn in the same Hobart studio you come to for fittings, which is why brides describe the process itself as the part they did not want to end.

Every Frahn Bridal gown is made by hand in the studio's own Hobart workroom.
Nicole trained at Perth's leading fashion design institution, graduating with design and construction awards, and won awards for contemporary evening wear.

A custom gown starts with a 60-minute one-on-one consultation where the design is worked out together.
The studio describes its own process as deliberately slow, and its brides describe the fittings as the part they did not want to end.
