By The Wilde is a Hobart wedding and elopement studio working in both photography and film. Omar and his partner shoot on digital and film formats, and describe their work as honest storytelling and artful images — the beautiful imperfect. The style is rooted in documentary honesty and lifted with an editorial eye: refined, emotive and intentional, with a subtle fine-art and fashion influence built on natural light and clean compositions. Their approach on the day is gentle and human — sometimes a quiet observer, sometimes a warm presence — which they offer specifically to couples who feel nervous in front of a camera. Omar came to photography from a background in social work, and says it shaped the way he listens and holds space.
Couples who want editorial imagery without a posed day, and who are as happy on a windswept coastline as in a reception room. The studio suits full weddings and elopements equally, from a whirlwind ceremony to a slow multi-day escape, and welcomes LGBTQ+ couples explicitly. Their published work runs from Tasmanian coastal venues to destination celebrations in Malaysia, France and the United States.
Weddings start at $3,900, elopements at $2,200 and lovers sessions at $800. A wedding gallery holds a minimum of 400 to 600 photographs, delivered through an online gallery with a year of access and a personal print store. Full galleries take four to six weeks and a sneak peek arrives within one to five days. Only a limited number of weddings is taken each year, enquiries go through a form, and payment can be split into instalments by arrangement.
They travel with a published schedule rather than a surcharge table: Italy in June 2026, Vietnam in July, Bali in August and New Zealand in December, each carrying no international travel fee for couples marrying there. For a Tasmanian studio, that turns distance from a cost into a calendar.
