Wedding Photographers · Bendigo, Victoria
Jonathon has been photographing weddings for over a decade from a base in Northern Victoria, and he is upfront that you will hardly find him home. His galleries run from a clifftop above the Grampians to a glasshouse full of palms, a sparkler exit under a verandah, a couple walking a gravel road at dusk, and a bride and groom being investigated by a paddock of curious cows. He calls himself an adventurous wedding photographer and a mountain biking dad, and the work has the same unforced quality.
He states it plainly: if you are seeking natural, genuine and candid imagery with an outdoor twist, he is right there for you. His couples say the same back — that they wanted photographs that looked natural and unposed and a photographer who was subtle rather than intrusive. He promises no awkward Pinterest posing, and describes skipping the stiff stage entirely and getting on with feeling like friends. Asked whether being an outdoor photographer means he avoids venues, he says the opposite — he loves them, and simply brings the outdoors in wherever he can, whether that is a mountain range or the paddock next door.
Couples anywhere in Victoria, because travel inside the state costs nothing no matter where you are — and his published weddings back that up, running from Shepparton and Ballarat to the Macedon Ranges, the Yarra Ranges, Werribee, Geelong, Inverloch and Barwon Heads. Equally for couples eloping or marrying small, who get a three-hour collection rather than being pushed toward a full day. Every wedding collection includes a couples adventure session at no extra cost, so couples who like the idea of a second shoot somewhere wild are well served.
Two wedding collections, both fully priced. Elopements and micro weddings are $2,100 for three hours with between one hundred and fifty and four hundred photographs; weddings are $3,450 for nine hours with between seven hundred and fifty and twelve hundred. Both include a private online gallery, ready-to-print images, regular check-ins and timeline planning, and the complimentary adventure session. Extra hours are $200 each. He will also tailor a collection to a specific budget, location or number of hours, and answers enquiries within forty-eight hours.
No travel fees anywhere in Victoria, stated without qualification. For a couple marrying in the country that is often the line item that quietly decides a photographer, and he has removed it — which is consistent with a man whose own answer to “do you travel?” is that you will hardly find him home.
