Hailey, who owns it, grew up on a flower farm in Far East Gippsland — it was always hard yakka, but character building — then worked the wholesale floor at the Footscray markets and Bridge Road Florist in Richmond before opening her own shop. That is the grower’s end, the wholesale end and the retail end of the same trade, and it is a rarer background than any style statement.
