Great Ocean Road Resort
About
Overview & Vibe
Great Ocean Road Resort sits at 105 Great Ocean Road in Anglesea, on the edge of the Great Otway National Park and a short walk from the river and the beach. It is a boutique-sized property that runs a wedding as a whole weekend rather than a single afternoon — ceremony, reception, accommodation, day spa and restaurant are all on the one site, and the whole resort can be booked exclusively.
Setting & Style
Ceremonies are held in an indoor conservatory filled with natural light, in the tropical landscaped gardens, or off-site on the beach with the permit and coordination handled for you. Receptions run in the Victoria Room — 216 square metres with room for a dancefloor — or, for a smaller wedding, around a bespoke timber banquet table in the private dining room at The Coast Restaurant. Between the two, guests spill onto the deck and the sunken lounge around the fire pit.
Ideal For
Couples who want the Surf Coast without organising it in pieces, and who like the idea of guests staying on-site — from a two-person elopement through to a cocktail reception of two hundred.
The Need-to-Knows
- The room and the catering have different ceilings. The Victoria Room is scheduled at 150 banquet and 200 cocktail, but the wedding packages cap at 80 guests for shared seated dining and 40 for plated. Check which limit applies to the wedding you are planning.
- Food packages start at $155 per person for shared grazing or standing cocktail, and $170 for the traditional plated menu or the micro-wedding package.
- Ceremonies are priced separately: from $750 for the on-site atrium (maximum 40 guests) and from $2,500 for an off-site beach wedding, which includes the beach permit and seating for 24.
- Reception space hire including the dancefloor is $1,000, on top of the food package.
- Exclusive use of the whole property — all 38 rooms — is $14,000 per night in the warmer months or $11,000 May to September. It is not available 20 December to 31 January, and Saturday nights in the peak months carry a two-night minimum.
- A winter incentive runs May to August: $10 per person off the food package for 20 guests or more.
- Children under 11 are $65 for a three-course meal; menu tastings are $110 per head.
Standout Feature
Ceremony, reception, day spa and thirty-eight rooms on one Anglesea site, with the beach a permit away — bookable as a whole property for the night.
