The Peak Lorne

Great Ocean Road / Lorne, Victoria

About

Overview & Vibe

The Peak is the function room and bistro at Lorne Country Club, sitting high on Holliday Road with sweeping views over Louttit Bay, a lush green golf course in front and bush behind. It is a glass-walled, sun-soaked room rather than a grand ballroom — the view does the work.

Setting & Style

Indoor and outdoor options both. Inside, long timber tables under the glass; outside, the fairways and a gum-shaded bar on the course. If you hold your reception at The Peak, access to the golf course for your ceremony is free — a real concession, since the same course carries an additional fee if you want a marquee on it.

Ideal For

Couples who want Lorne itself rather than a farm an hour inland, and who are happy to be guided by a kitchen. The food is the strong suit: canape selections, a plated sit-down menu, a harvest grazing table, a seafood bar, a lolly bar and an ice cream cart, with local drops on tap — Furphy from Geelong, Carlton Draught, Stone & Wood Pacific Ale, Balter XPA.

The Need-to-Knows

Marquees are the nominated wet-weather ceremony back-up. The Peak provides white linen napkins and nothing else in the way of styling — no table menus, name places, tablecloths or seating charts. The in-house PA is explicitly “ideal for PA and background music – not loud dancing music”. Deposits are refundable only up to six months out.

Standout Feature

Two small generosities that cost couples real money elsewhere: free use of the golf course for the ceremony if the reception is here, and no cakeage“we do not charge to cut and serve cake”.

Price Notes

  • Per-head figures exist for the harvest grazing table, seafood bar, lolly bar and ice cream cart, plus a booking deposit, a reduced child price and a supplier meal fee — all set in a font subset with no digit mapping. None has been recorded
  • What is stated about pricing: "All prices are current at the time of quotation. All prices set out are inclusive of GST. This does not include individual bar prices"
  • NO CAKEAGE: "Can I bring my own cake and how much for you to cut it and serve it? Yes. We do not charge to cut and serve cake"
  • Free ceremony access to the golf course: "If you hold your reception at The Peak, we can arrange free access to the golf course for your ceremony" — but "marquees on the golf course have an additional fee depending on their size and location"
  • Capacity is capped by the wet weather plan — the venue caps standing and seated numbers so everyone fits under cover, and sets a minimum for both private seated and standing events. Ask for the current figures.
  • CANCELLATION: "We will refund your deposit up to six months before your date. If you need to cancel less than six months before your wedding, all deposits will be forfeited." A late cancellation forfeits the outstanding balance
  • PAYMENT: the full balance is due a set number of days prior to the event, and final guest numbers are due a set number of days prior
  • Security bond: "We should hope not. We do however expect you to treat our venue with respect and be responsible for any damage that may arise from wildly guests. The Peak reserves the right to request security at your event"
  • Styling is not provided: "White linen napkins are provided for each guest. You are more than welcome to source your own napkins. The Peak does not provide table menus, name places, tablecloths or seating charts"
  • DECORATIONS: supplier access is available from a set time, and "all decorations must be removed at the conclusion of the event"
  • Audio-visual comes with a warning: "The Peak provides in-house PA with bluetooth connection, projector screen, and wireless microphone. Our system is ideal for PA and background music - not loud dancing music."
  • Supplier meals: a meal fee applies to band members, photographers and any other contractors or event staff
  • Food format: canape menus for stand-up weddings (select five, or select three for the substantial canapes), a plated sit-down menu selecting three mains and two sides, plus optional stations — harvest grazing table, seafood bar, dessert station, lolly bar and ice cream cart

Longnecks on tables are offered subject to availability
