Jave Lee is a Melbourne wedding photographer working alone on most weddings, which is the whole shape of the service: one person who has met you, present all day, rather than a rotating team. He photographs weddings full time and says so plainly when asked.
He describes his approach as natural, aimed at authenticity rather than arrangement. Couples who have written about working with him describe being guided into positions that felt comfortable and then largely left alone. Finished galleries come back as a deliberate mix of colour and black and white, roughly seventy to thirty.
Couples who want one photographer rather than a crew, and who like the idea of meeting properly before booking — over coffee or a video call, whichever suits. He also photographs engagements, couples, families and babies, so a pre-wedding session can come from the same hand as the wedding day.
Expect between 500 and 800 finished images, all retouched and supplied in both high resolution for printing and low resolution for screens, delivered through a private online gallery. The gallery is usually ready in four to six weeks with the final files following the week after. A thirty per cent prepayment secures the date. Collections are quoted on enquiry rather than published, and fine art albums and prints are offered separately.
He culls rather than dumps — the promise is the best of the day rather than every frame taken, so nobody is handed two thousand images to sort. A second photographer is available when a wedding is large enough to need one, and he says he will bring one in rather than stretch.
